Audioslave, Mudvayne, rendront hommage à Alice In Chains

Un album hommage à la formation Alice In Chains est en préparation chez Bullygoat Records, une étiquette fondée par Chad Gray, le chanteur de Mudvayne.

Le projet serait intitulé WE PAY OUR DEBT SOMETIMES : A TRIBUTE TO ALICE IN CHAINS et regroupait les formations Audioslave, Mudvayne, Breaking Benjamin, Puddle of Mudd, Cold, Adema, Static-X ainsi qu?Aaron Lewis (Staind), Mark Lanegan et l?ancien guitariste d?Alice In Chains, Jerry Cantrell.

Ce dernier apparaîtrait sur l?album avec son nouveau groupe, CARDBOARD VAMPIRES et jouerait également avec Patrick Lachman (Damageplan) sur la pièce SEA OF SORROW et avec Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society) sur HEAVEN BESIDE YOU. Mike Inez et Sean Kinney, deux anciens membres de la formation Alice in Chains, agiraient également à titre de consultant sur le projet.

Cette nouvelle signature du label suèdois s'inscrit intégralement dans cette nouvelle mouvance "rock crado" menée par The Strokes ou International Noise Conspiracy. Avec des influences différentes de ces groupes, Division Of Laura Lee fait figure de groupe de haute facture. Ce "Black City" possède un son post punk à la Fugazi ou Drive Like Jehu, mais se situerait musicalement proche de Bluetip ou The Stooges. Une énergie palpable à l'écoute de tous ces morceaux de qualité homogène. Division Of Laura Lee apporte une petite touche de rock 70's au label suèdois plus connu jusqu'à maintenant pour ses productions punk mélodique malgré la recente médiatisation de The International Noise Conspiracy qui semble avoir ouvert des portes au combo. Un groupe qui, bien qu'avec un style particulier, reste une des bonnes surprises de ce début 2002.
